MEET THE MAINTAINER

Mister Ahmad

I maintain IBAN Toolkit, a collection of browser-based banking-format tools for testing and learning. My personal website is misterahmad.com.

For a bug report, include the page, country format, expected result and a synthetic example. Please do not send real customer account details, banking passwords or one-time codes.

Data sources and review process

IBAN Toolkit aligns its format database with the SWIFT IBAN Registry and uses the ISO 13616 MOD-97 checksum for validation logic. Structure-only tools are clearly labelled so users do not confuse mathematical validity with live-bank verification.

IBAN Toolkit is a free collection of online tools for IBANs and banking codes: generate structurally valid test IBANs, validate IBAN formatting, calculate IBANs from account numbers, generate SWIFT/BIC codes, US routing numbers, UK sort codes, and SEPA QR codes.

Built on official data

  • Country formats are maintained against the official SWIFT ISO 13616 IBAN Registry, Release 103 (September 2026) (89 country/territory formats).
  • Check digits use the real algorithms: ISO 13616 mod-97 for IBANs, the ABA checksum for US routing numbers, ISO 9362 structure for BICs.
  • Everything runs client-side. No servers process your inputs; nothing is logged.

Validation scope

IBAN checks cover country recognition, exact length, country-specific BBAN character structure, and ISO 13616 MOD-97 check digits. Routing-number and BIC tools check mathematical or structural rules only; they do not confirm assignment in live directories.

Last registry review: 7 October 2026.

Who it is for

Developers testing payment forms, QA engineers building fixtures, students learning how IBANs work, freelancers adding SEPA QR codes to invoices: anyone who needs correctly formatted banking test data with clear validation limits. Generated values are synthetic test data. They are not checked against live bank directories and must not be treated as proof of a real or non-real account.

What we will never build

We deliberately do not offer credit-card number generators or anything designed to impersonate real financial credentials.

Testing and educational use. Generated identifiers are synthetic and are not checked against live bank directories. A randomly generated value can coincidentally resemble or match a real identifier. Never use generated data for real payments, account applications, identity verification, or to represent a real person or institution.

Editorial policy and accountability

Mister Ahmad is the site maintainer and correction contact. Technical notes are prepared with AI assistance and checked against referenced format rules and automated regression fixtures. AI assistance is not presented as independent human expert review. No banking licence or account-verification service is claimed.

Examples are synthetic or clearly marked documentation fixtures. We distinguish international format checks from domestic checksums, directory lookups and recipient verification. Reported errors are investigated against reproducible inputs before a correction is published.

Published quality checks

Fixture suite v1.0.0 checks all 89 implemented formats, 4,450 generated values and 623 regression cases. The suite uses an independent BigInt checksum calculation and a separately built country-pattern matcher. It checks deterministic generation, normalization, expected acceptance and rejection. It does not certify every national banking rule or confirm real accounts.
