Why IBAN Toolkit?

Whether you are testing a payment form, learning how IBANs work, or preparing invoice QR codes, you need banking data that is correctly formatted for testing, with clear limitations. Every generator here is built on official registry data: the SWIFT IBAN registry for country formats, the ABA checksum formula for US routing numbers, ISO 9362 structure for BIC codes: so generated values can exercise format and checksum validation without claiming that any bank account exists.

Free, private, and thorough

  • Nine free tools: generation, validation, calculation and export: no accounts, no limits, no watermarks.
  • Private by design: everything runs in your browser. Your inputs never leave your device.
  • 89 countries: from Germany’s 22-character IBANs to Brazil’s 29-character format, each with its exact official structure.

Honest about what this is

Generated values are synthetic test data. They are not checked against live bank directories and must not be treated as proof of a real or non-real account. Every page says so plainly, and we deliberately do not offer anything fraud-adjacent (like credit-card generators). That is the same standard the established IBAN sites hold themselves to.

Data source & validation scope

IBAN country formats are maintained against the SWIFT ISO 13616 IBAN Registry, Release 103 (September 2026). This site checks or generates format structure and mathematical check digits locally in your browser. It does not query live bank-account, routing-number or BIC directories, so a structurally valid result is not proof that an account, bank or branch exists.

What makes this site useful?

Not just a checksum

The validator checks the country format, BBAN structure and check digits rather than relying on a single mathematical test.

Built for testing

Generators produce synthetic data designed for QA, front-end testing, demos and education.

Human-readable explanations

Guides, examples and diagrams help teams understand why a value is valid or invalid.

Frequently asked questions

No. Everything runs in your browser via JavaScript. We never see, log or store your inputs.
No. Generated values are synthetic test data that is not checked against live bank directories. Do not assume a generated value is unassigned, and never use it at a real bank: and must never be used to mislead anyone.

Testing and educational use. Generated identifiers are synthetic and are not checked against live bank directories. A randomly generated value can coincidentally resemble or match a real identifier. Never use generated data for real payments, account applications, identity verification, or to represent a real person or institution.
