Bank Account Number Generator

Random test account numbers for dev and QA: any length, bulk export, no signup.

Generate test account numbers

Plain random digit strings: no checksum, no bank link. Safe for screenshots, fixtures and demos.

How this tool works

This tool is designed for testing, education and workflow prototyping. It validates or generates structurally correct values based on published format rules and clearly states where no live-bank lookup is performed.

When you need a number that looks like an account number

Not every test needs a full IBAN. Mock statements, database seeds, form-layout tests, and documentation screenshots often just need a plausible account number: a string of digits with no link to anything real. That is exactly what this tool produces.

Design decisions

  • No checksum, by design. Unlike IBANs or ABA routing numbers, most national account numbers have no universal check digit: so we generate plain digits, honestly labeled.
  • Leading zeros allowed. Real account numbers can start with zero; test data should too.
  • Adjustable length. 6 to 16 digits covers everything from short savings IDs to long corporate references.

Frequently asked questions

They are random placeholders and are not checked against live banking records. Do not use them for real banking or to represent an actual account.
Most countries' domestic account numbers have no universal checksum standard (unlike IBANs or US routing numbers), so adding one would be misleading.
No: and deliberately so. These are institution-neutral placeholders for testing, mockups and fiction.
Testing and educational use. Generated identifiers are synthetic and are not checked against live bank directories. A randomly generated value can coincidentally resemble or match a real identifier. Never use generated data for real payments, account applications, identity verification, or to represent a real person or institution.
